Beef Stir Fry (Beef Sauce)

I had a poll on my instagram recently and I received quite a number of requests for a beef stir fry/beef sauce. Truth is I don't make a lot of sauces because I’m not a fan but I decided to give it a go seeing as I had all the ingredients to make a delicious beef stir fry. Recipe videos will be up on my instagram highlights , do check it out. If you freeze your beef for 30 mins you'd find that it makes it so much easier to dice/slice than when it's at room temperature. It also makes it easy for the sizes to be equal.

Recipe

what you need

1/2 kg beef, cut into small chunks

3/4 cup my stir fry sauce

1/2 cup water

3 green bell peppers, roughly chopped

1 large onion, chopped

3 carrots, julienned (as thin as you can slice the carrots without grating)

2 tsp favorite spice mix (I grinded equal amounts of cumin, fennel seeds, dried parsley, dried oregano, dried mint, dried thyme). Make sure that your spice contains at least 2 of my dried spices.

2 tablespoons veg oil

Directions

Heat oil in a skillet over low heat until hot. Add beef chunks, stir and add spice mix. Stir and allow beef to simmer in its own juices until soft, about 15-17 mins depending on the size of your chunks.

Add stir fry sauce and water. Stir to combine and add carrot. Cook until carrot softens a bit then add the chopped onion and green bell pepper. Turn heat down if too high and cook until onion and green pepper soften, about 3 mins. Add salt if it isn't enough. I didn't add extra salt because the stir fry sauce was salty enough.

Serve with my turmeric rice or coconut fried rice
