Palm Wine & Nunum Sangria
If you follow my instagram you know I love me some good wine. I always have wine at home. I also love palm wine and I was recently gifted a gallon so I figured why not combine two of my favorite things. I have a lot of nunum aka scent leaf which happens to be one of my favorite herbs. It’s fragrant and a close relative of basil. It is more citrusy than regular basil, almost like if basil, akokob3sa (African basil ) , rosemary and thyme had a baby. That’s what it smells like. It’s beautiful.
Recipe 6 servings
what you need
3 cups palm wine
3 cups chardonay
1 cup vodka
1 cup soda water
1 lemon, thinly sliced
1 star fruit, thinly sliced (substitute with lemon or orange)
2 oranges, cut into squares
1 cup nunum or more
Directions
Place all the ingredients in a pitcher. Stir to combine and place in the fridge for at least a day. 3 days is perfect. The nunum might discolor after a day so remove it before serving and replace with fresh nunnum leafs.
