Foolproof Pizza Dough

I love a good pizza like everyone else. I even like it better when I can make the dough a day ahead because no one has time to knead dough when you want a pizza. You can make this dough a day ahead and let it rise in the fridge overnight or you could just make it and allow it to rise on the counter for a couple of hours after which you can shape and bake immediately.

Recipe Yields 2 medium sized pizzas.

what you need

300g bread flour

6g salt

2g instant yeast

195g lukewarm water

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/2 teaspoon sugar

Directions

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl. Stir until there are no flour bits. Knead the dough whilst it’s still in the bowl for 5 mins.  Cover and let rest for 15mins. Heavily flour a work surface and place dough on it. Divide the dough into 2 ( for 2 small medium sized pizzas) and shape each into a tight ball.

To bake, turn oven to the highest temperature it can go (usually around 260C) and heat for 45 mins. Shape pizza after the first rise (if baking the same day) or allow it to stand on the counter when it’s out of the fridge until it comes to room temperature then shape, Add toppings and bake for 7 mins or until the edges are golden brown.

Serve alongside my Palmwine & Nunum Sangria or my Wagashi green salad
